Welcoming a new baby is exciting, amazing, and also really tiring for a mom.
In those first days, a mother needs comfort.
She needs a place to rest into, something that helps her feel safe and supported.
She needs warm food that gives her energy while she takes care of her newborn.
Our The First Forty Days jars are back for families in the Los Angeles area.
We only offer a few openings each month.
Each order is made by hand, cooked slowly, and delivered fresh once a week.
Every delivery includes 12 jars filled with soups, broths, congee, and teas that help a mother rest, heal, and feel nourished.
These jars were created with the same care and intention as Heng’s book, The First Forty Days. They give real, simple support that new mothers need.
This is the kind of gift mothers remember for years because it meets them in the truth of those early weeks, when they are tired, hungry, and longing to feel cared for.
What She Receives
- Every jar is prepared slowly and thoughtfully, with the mother at the center and cooked with loving intention by Heng
- Twelve freshly made jars (12 oz each), never frozen
- Comforting food that offers steady, sustaining energy
- The reassurance of being held, supported, and nourished during this tender time
How It Works
We open a limited number of spots each month. You may reserve up to three months in advance and let us know when you’re ready to receive your jars.
Once your spot is reserved, it is held for you.
Deliveries arrive as a one off or weekly at your doorstep, ready to warm and enjoy. Ingredients cannot be substituted.
Because each order is prepared with focused attention and genuine care, we reach capacity quickly. We encourage booking ahead to secure the weeks you need. Every family receives our full presence, which is why we limit how many orders we accept.
The First Forty Days Jars are more than food. They offer a pause, a breath, a moment of relief in the middle of newborn life. A reminder that she deserves nourishment too.
If you are gifting a new mother in Los Angeles, give her what she truly needs in those first tender weeks: warm nourishment, steady support, and the feeling of being held.
