Right here in the local community! Our network of talented local chefs craft meals in health-inspected commercial kitchens across the area, within about an hour of all our delivery locations.

We have a diverse crew of local chefs, caterers, and restaurants working to bring you the most variety and taste in the simplest experience possible.

Our chefs use fresh, high quality ingredients and are committed to transparency in sourcing. We've worked hard to ensure our animal proteins come from responsible & sustainable sources. Animals and whole eggs are raised with room to roam and no added hormones and antibiotics. We are continually evolving our standards to focus on local, sustainable & naturally raised options.

We are proud to work with a network of over 35 independent chefs and restaurants who source their ingredients from various local vendors in each city. We have some chefs who prioritize sourcing exclusively organic, and others who focus on locality and family-owned businesses and farms. Whatever their priority, we promise top quality and ethically sourced ingredients.

Our meals are delivered fresh and never frozen. That goes for every ingredient used to prepare these meals, as well!

All containers are microwave safe, except for the lids and any ramekin sauce cup. Please remove your lid before microwaving your meal. We suggest heating the food on a hot pan. Add a little water if needed and a lid, and heat for 3-5 minutes.

Each of our meals has heating instructions on the label based on the specifics of that meal, so be sure to give that a look before you start prepping your meal.

Please note: consuming raw or under-cooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs, may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have certain medical conditions.

Yes, you will be able to select the meals you want during the checkout process.

There are many factors that go into our menu creation. Each of our local delivery zones and our national shipping zone has a unique menu of meals based on the chefs within that region. Our menu is based on seasonality, ingredient availability, sourcing changes, and most importantly the preferences of our customers!

Our team of culinary experts partners with local chefs to put forward a menu of meals that we think customers will be most excited about. This includes rotating favorite meals as well as new meals to ensure as much variety as possible.

Our meals are good to eat for 5 days after delivery on our local menu, and up to 8 days after delivery on our shipping menu. Some ingredients naturally hold up better than others, so we include suggestions on the meal label for which meals to eat earliest in your rotation. For example, any leafy green salad should be consumed earlier rather than later, etc.

All of our meals are designed to feed one person. If you are wanting to feed your family, or friends, or just want larger portions, we do offer A La Carte meals!

In plenty of cases, yes. We call this process adding Ingredients to Avoid which you can set when you place your order. Choose from a list of commonly substituted ingredients (dietary preferences, proteins, etc.) and we’ll swap out any meals featuring that item with another meal from the same delivery.

Yes, so we can make it super easy for future orders. You'll be prompted before you start the order process. Creating an account takes just a minute, you only have to do it once. All your info (payment, order history, plans, etc.) will be waiting for you when you return.

If you're not satisfied, we will make it right. If you're not satisfied with one of our products or our service - for any reason - we will gladly provide a refund.

To get started, head on over to our MB Meals site. Click Get Started directly from our home page, either in the middle of your screen or in the top right of your menu toolbar.

Once you've created your account, our system will walk you through setting up your first order. Our system automatically slots your meals, but we encourage you to edit your pack to choose the meals that sound best to you.

Before clicking to place your order, take a peek at the toggle option: Save With A Weekly Subscription. To avoid a weekly subscription, simply switch the toggle off. When the toggle is greyed out, you have successfully opted out of a recurring order.

By opting into a subscription order, your chosen plan will come your way each week with no additional steps required from you. There is no commitment, and you can pause your order or skip a week at any time.

Be sure to review your menu each week to ensure that you are receiving meals that are best for you and your family. You can customize your meals any time before the order deadline closes on Thursday at 11:59 PM (local time). Each week payment for your recurring order will automatically process after that deadline closes.

Our order deadline closes each week on Thursday at 11:59pm (local time). In order to receive meals for next week, you would need to place your order by Thursday at 11:59pm (local time). Any order placed after the deadline will arrive the following week. 

Please note: This deadline also applies when you need to skip or pause your order.

Depending on your area, our packaging allows for up to 12 meals per delivery, with a minimum of 4 or 6 meals. You can schedule up to 2 deliveries weekly, for a total of 24 meals weekly!

Customers can order up to twelve meals per delivery, twice a week. If you are looking to order for multiple people we suggest creating an order for each individual person. This way you can each have your own food preferences and get the number of meals you each want.

After you’ve placed your first order, you can place additional orders by heading back to our homepage. From the homepage, select to Place New Order towards the top of your screen, and then follow the steps you just took to place your first order.

Majority of our meals are hand delivered locally. There are a few states that require shipping of meals. Not to worry, if your meals are shipped, your meals are safely sealed, ready for shipment. 

Our shipping customers have one shipment a week on Wednesday.

Our delivery customers have twice a week deliveries on Sunday and Wednesday.

Due to our extensive testing with our cold keeping, we believe your meals will still be fresh upon delivery. But before you dig into your meals, please note the Fresh Tag card inside your box. There is a sticker on this card that will be the indicator if your meals are within the correct temperature for consumption.

Please refer to the color key on the card. If you have a green to light orange sticker, please enjoy your meals! If you have a deep orange or red sticker, we advise you to not eat these meals. Please take a photo of your card for our records, and reach out to meals@motherbees.com

Our delivery days are Sunday and Wednesday each week.

Deliveries in our local zones happen on Sunday and Wednesday, anywhere between 10 am -10 pm on the day of delivery. Customers have the option to receive meals twice a week or on either Sunday or Wednesday.

Our shipping customers have one shipment a week on Wednesdays.

For customers in our DC Market, Sunday deliveries will occur between 10 pm on Sunday evenings to 6 am on Monday mornings. Mid-week deliveries can be expected between 10 pm on Wednesday evenings and 6 am on Thursday mornings. 

Your meals will arrive in an insulated box and will stay cold and fresh until you are able to retrieve them the next morning.

Because of these possible nighttime hours, we can’t always call in, buzz- in, or knock on your door. So please provide detailed delivery instructions during the checkout process. This helps us get you your food when you need it.

Delivery during holidays remains business as usual. In general, you should assume that we'll make deliveries per our normal schedule on Sunday and Wednesday. On rare occasions, we will adjust a delivery date, but we will always give you plenty of notice in advance.

Whether the weather is bad, there are power outages, or any other events that could delay delivery, we make every effort to deliver meals within 24 hours of their original targeted delivery time of Sunday or Wednesday.

We will always notify our customers by email if we know there’ll be a delay or cancellation so customers can plan accordingly.

Upon logging in, you will arrive at your Dashboard

Select the order that you want to make changes to

Click 'Edit Meals'

Choose your meals for each of your delivery days: if you have multiple delivery days, you can make changes by clicking tabs on the top of the page

Hit “Save” at the bottom!

Please note: All menu edits must occur by 11:59 pm on Thursdays in order to receive meals the following week.

Log into your dashboard

Click 'Edit Meals'

On the right-hand side, you will be set to receive your deliveries per usual. Remove all of the meals from the delivery day you'd like to skip by clicking "Empty Box"

Click 'Save Changes' on the bottom left!

Please note: If you previously customized your order prior to this skip, you will need to select your menu again. All edits must be made by our order deadline of Thursday at 11:59pm to take effect for the following delivery cycle.

Once logged in, go to your Dashboard

Select the order that you want to make changes to

Click ‘Manage Weekly Schedule’

Click ‘Skip A Week’

You can skip up to 4 weeks. We will send you a reminder when your skips are over, so keep an eye out for an email!

Click Save Changes on the bottom right!

Please note: If you previously customized your order prior to this skip, you will need to select your menu again. All edits must be made by our order deadline of Thursday at 11:59pm to take effect for the following delivery cycle.

If there are certain ingredients you need to steer clear of, you can always add them to your list of Ingredients to Avoid. Once you've added ingredients to this list, we'll take your omissions into account while we curate your menu.

 

How to update your Ingredients to Avoid:

Once logged in, go to your Dashboard

Select the order that you want to make changes to

Find the ‘Dietary Preferences’ section and click “edit”

Scroll down and enter those ingredients

Be sure to save your changes!

 

It is important to note that the more Ingredients to Avoid you add to your list will reduce your menu options, and may make it more difficult to match meals to your preferences. If this happens, your order will be paused until you go in and select meals. We always highly recommend customers take a look at their menu each week for this reason. It also ensures you get the meals that sound the most delicious to you.

If you've already customized your menu for next week, you will need to go back and check your order to make sure your modifications are applied to the meals you've chosen.

Editing the meal quantity on your order is quite simple:

You will be taken to your Dashboard upon logging in

From there you’ll select Manage Weekly Schedule

Then select Meal Plan Options

Scroll down and here you can update your plan with the new quantities for each day

Click Save Changes in the bottom right

Click Apply Changes

To change your delivery address, follow the steps below:

 

Log in to select your Dashboard

Select the order that you want to make changes to

Find the Home Delivery section and click “edit”

Click 'Edit Location'

From there make any updates necessary, or add a new address entirely!

Be sure to save your changes!

All changes for the upcoming delivery week must be made before our deadline on Thursday at 11:59pm.

 

Please note: Deliveries may occur during the evening. Because of these possible late hours, we can't always call-in, buzz in, or knock on your door. So please provide detailed delivery instructions during the checkout process. This helps us get you your food when you need it.

How to add a new card to your account:

1. Once signed in, hover over your initials in the upper right-hand corner of the screen

2. Select Account Settings

3. Scroll down to view your Billing Info

4. Click Add a payment card

5. Enter all of your billing information, and make sure you have selected this as your default payment.

6. To save, hit the red button that says Add Card

7. The page will refresh and you should see a banner that informs you the card was added successfully.

 

How to add a new card to an order:

1. Once logged in, go to your Dashboard

2. Select the order that you want to make changes to

3. Find the Payment Method section and click “edit”

4. Select the payment method you would like to use from the dropdown

5. Be sure to save your changes!

 

Please Note: All changes to billing must be made before the order deadline closes on Thursday at 11:59pm.

To rate your meals, you'll need to be logged in to your account. Start by hovering over your initials then click Meal Feedback

By giving a meal a frowning face, you will be less likely to receive this meal in the future. To ensure you never receive this meal again, make sure to check the box in the pop-out that says "Don't send me this meal again". Giving a meal a smiley face lets us know you've enjoyed this meal and we will continue to recommend this meal to you.

MB Meals and our chef partners monitor all of these ratings to make sure our meals are meeting our customer's standards.

Follow the steps below to cancel your order:

Once logged in, go to your Dashboard

Select the order that you want to make changes to

Click Manage Weekly Schedule

Click Cancel Order

Note: If you cancel an order but choose to come back at a later date you will have to re-enter your meal preferences and dietary restrictions. If you just need a break, consider pausing your order for up to 4 weeks or switching to a one-time order.

If you are canceling your order, please be sure to do it before our order deadline closes on Thursday at 11:59pm. If it is after this deadline, please reach out to our support team for further assistance.

At this time, you cannot combine MB Pantry and MB Meals. We are working on improving this in the future and appreciate your patience!

Pantry items are shipped via USPS and FedEx. Deliveries usually occur within 2 - 7 days from your shipping confirmation.

At this time, giftcards are used for MB Pantry items only.

MB Meals & Books will not accept MotherBees giftcards at this time.

No, sorry, we don’t offer gift cards for Meals just yet. But, customers can order up to twelve meals per delivery, twice a week, and you can place orders for other people as a gift!
